Humana wins Stevie Award for Best New Product
LOUISVILLE, KY - Jun 13, 2006 - Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) won a Stevie Award for its SmartSummary Rx benefits statement in the Best New Product category at the 2006 American Business Awards Monday night.
SmartSummary Rx is the nation's first in-depth, monthly prescription drug benefits summary tailored specifically to individual Medicare members. It provides Humana's Medicare enrollees with a cumulative prescription claims record, personalized guidance on health-enhancing and cost-savings opportunities and valuable tools that can help them budget for future prescription drug spending.
Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post, the American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.
The 2006 awards, nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The event was hosted by CNN business news anchor Ali Velshi, videocast live on the internet and broadcast nationwide on radio.
Humana also recently launched the quarterly SmartSummary statement, a similar tool for its Commercial members that will be rolled out through the remainder of the year.
Stevie Awards were presented in over 40 categories including Best Overall Company, Best Executive and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program. More than 1,500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
