Humana Expands Medicare Plans in Dallas

New HMO and Special Needs Plans Now Available for Seniors

DALLAS - November 05, 2007 - Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today the availability of additional Medicare plans in the Dallas area. Beginning on Nov. 15, Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in the Humana Gold Plus HMO plan, as well as have access to special needs plans for dual-eligibles and those with osteoarthritis. The 2008 expansion, approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, builds upon the already available regional and local PPO, private-fee-for-service and Part D prescription drug plans in the area, and focuses on providing greater choice to meet the changing needs of seniors in the market.

The Humana Gold Plus HMO, available in Dallas and Rockwall counties, provides seniors with an affordable alternative to original Medicare or a Medicare supplement plan. Members can enjoy broad coverage, all the benefits of original Medicare and prescription drug coverage. The plan offers members their choice of a primary care physician in the plan network, no monthly plan premium, low co-payments for doctor visits and annual routine physicals, coverage for most annual screenings at no charge and emergency coverage anywhere in the world.

The new HMO plans will include money-saving features, like discounts on vision and hearing care, prescriptions and complimentary and alternative medicine. They also include access to Humana’s nurse support service, HumanaFirst, and a member assistance program to provide those with Medicare additional support services and guidance.

Residents of Dallas county also have access to a special needs plan for those dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. The Humana Gold Plus HMO dual eligible special needs plan offers members dental and vision benefits, $0 primary care physician co-payments, $0 specialist co-payments and no monthly premiums.

For those with osteoarthritis, Humana offers the Humana Choice PPO special needs plan. Available to seniors statewide, this special needs plan offers members routine chiropractic visits, acupuncture and osteoarthritis drug coverage during the coverage gap.

"As baby boomers and seniors age, their insurance needs change. We're committed to changing our Medicare product offerings to meet them where they are in their health care experience," said George F. Smith, M.D., regional president of Senior Products for Humana's Southwest region. "We've listened to seniors about what they want and leveraged our experience in health benefits to give them more options that fit their health needs. The expansion of product offerings in Dallas shows our commitment to ensuring all seniors have access to the right plan for them."

Additionally, most prescription drug coverage that accompanies the PPO and HMO plans will include a $0 co-payment of Tier 1 (preferred generic) drugs when ordered through Humana's preferred prescription home-delivery service, RightSource.

Medicare-eligible seniors throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area continue to have the choice of Humana's other Medicare plans, including Humana Gold Choice, the private fee-for-service plan that offers members nationwide medical coverage, the Part D prescription drugs plans and the local and regional Humana Choice PPO plans.

Humana Medicare Advantage is an alternative to original Medicare, not a supplement. For more information about enrolling in any Humana plans, visit Humana-Medicare.com or call toll-free 1-800-833-6578.
