Humana believes Medicare members deserve a better way to understand, track, manage, and save money on their medical care and prescription drugs.
That's why we developed SmartSummary® and SmartSummary Rx, the nation's first in-depth, monthly benefits summary tailored specifically to individual Medicare members.
How it works
Each member of a Humana prescription drug plan or Humana Medicare Advantage plan receives a summary by mail at no additional cost. Members who have Internet access can also view the summary online, in addition to the paper mailings.
SmartSummary and SmartSummary Rx detail your benefits usage and include suggestions on how to lower monthly spending. These statements help you:
- Understand how much you've spent to date
- Communicate with your doctors and pharmacists about the healthcare services you receive and the medications you take
Members with Humana prescription drug coverage can also use the statements to:
- Review prescriptions - including fill dates, prescribing doctor and pharmacy information
- Understand the various phases of your prescription drug plan, so you can better manage your money and prepare for the "coverage gap"
- It is designed to help members better manage their money and prepare for the coverage gap
Bridging the "gap"
SmartSummary Rx is a valuable tool because of Medicare's built-in coverage gap, also commonly known as the doughnut hole.
Rx Record On-the-Go
The Rx Record On-the-Go is a personalized, portable listing of prescription maintenance medications for members in a Humana prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage. It's just one of the ways Humana is working to help its members have up-to-date personal prescription information.
Members can carry this colorful card in their purse or wallet to help them manage their medications and communicate with their doctor or pharmacist. Members receive a new Rx Record On-the-Go any time there is a change in their maintenance drugs.
