Understand when you can switch plans
- You can change plans from November 15 - December 31, 2008, with coverage beginning January 1, 2009.
- Members in Humana's Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plans are eligible to switch plans.
- If you are satisfied with your current plan, you may not need to take any action.

How do I know if I need to change my coverage?
Read your Annual Notification of Change
If you are a member with us, you should receive your Annual Notification of Change in the mail before or around October 31st. This important communication provides you with information on how your current plan is changing, including any applicable premium or benefit changes.
Your Annual Notification of Change also will tell you if your current plan will no longer be available in 2009, if you will be automatically enrolled in a similar plan, or if you need to take action. This information will be explained in your Annual Notice of Change. To request a copy of this letter, please call the Customer Service number located on the back of your Humana member card.
Determine if you should change your healthcare coverage
If you are satisfied with your current plan, and it is available next year, you do not need to take any action.
However, if your current plan isn't available next year and you are not being automatically enrolled in another similar Humana plan, you'll need to make a decision about how you want to receive your medical and/or prescription drug coverage in the future. Remember, the last day to decide is December 31, 2008.
How to change plans
If you are a member in our Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plans, you can quickly and easily change to another one of our plans on this Website during certain times of the year. Just enter your ZIP Code above and access our online plan comparison tools. These tools let you estimate what your costs will be for each plan.
Once you have selected the plan you want to enroll in, we will ask you to identify yourself by entering your:
- Member ID (located on your Humana member card)
- Date of Birth
- ZIP Code
Your enrollment form will be filled in automatically with the applicable information we have in our records and all you have to do is verify that it is correct.
